We offer a variety of senior programming for ages 55+ at two facilities within College Station. The Lincoln Recreation Center and Meyer Senior and Community Center serve as a gathering space to visit and socialize, enjoy a cup of coffee or participate in fun activities such as line dancing, arts and crafts, bridge, 42 dominoes, computer club and more.

    PROGRAMS

    FITNESS CENTER & WALKING
    Use the treadmill or elliptical in the fitness room or get your steps in by walking indoors in the gym or outdoors under a covered pavilion. The fitness center is equipped with cardio machines, a weight-training circuit, single-station machines, and a complete range of free-weight equipment including benches, barbells and dumbbells. Participants must be a registered senior participant.

    TABLE GAMES
    Enjoy a variety of board games, cards, dominoes, and spades.

    A healthy, well-balanced lunch is served daily. Enjoy with approved client intake form.

    This class is specifically designed to encourage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyle practices. Exercises are designed to accommodate all abilities and focus on building strength, balance and endurance.

    BEGINNING LINE DANCE WORKSHOP
    Workshop is designated to teach beginners the steps and terminology of line dancing.

    BIBLE STUDY
    A diverse, faith community where seniors search, study, and grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

    A fun, exciting way to dance your way to good health. Join us as we learn line dancing steps to old school R&B songs while burning calories.

    BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING
    Free blood pressure check. This can help you detect any rise in your blood pressure, giving you and your doctor an early warning of any related issues.

    Test your luck and meet new people with a friendly game of Bingo.

    SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
    The committee’s purpose is to address the needs of older adults living in College Station and offers program and activity suggestions to the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. Members must be 55+ and current residents of College Station. Visitors are welcome to attend meetings.

    COMPUTER CLUB FOR SENIORS
    Interested in learning more about the world of computers and technology? Join us the first Wednesday of each month. Registration is not required.

    BASIC JEWELRY MAKING
    Learn how to make basic earrings, bracelets and necklaces or repair broken jewelry. Our instructors Joe, Linda and Betty will offer expertise and guidance. Participants are encouraged to bring their own beads.

    EXPLORING HISTORY LUNCHEONS • REGISTRATION REQUIRED
    College Station’s Historic Preservation Committee and Parks and Recreation Department present monthly lectures over our community’s history. Reservations are required and are due the Monday before the luncheon. Call 979.764.3486 or visit rectrac.cstx.gov or visit a parks facility to reserve your spot. The lecture is free to attend and lunch is $7 per person. Payment is required during registration.

Memberships

Memberships can be used for senior programming at the Lincoln Recreation Center and Meyer Senior and Community Center. Memberships are good for one calendar year from the date of purchase. Programs marked “membership” above are free to those with a facility membership.
