The Lincoln Recreation Center offers a wide variety of amenities and services aimed at improving the quality of life of College Station residents. Residents can take advantage of services in the areas of youth programming, senior services, special events, and community outreach. The facility includes two gymnasiums, game room, fitness room, multipurpose rooms, splash pad, and a 13,000 square foot covered pavilion. 

HISTORY

Originally constructed as the A&M Consolidated Negro School, the Lincoln Center is located at 1000 Eleanor in W.A. Tarrow Park. The facility has been used at one time or another as a neighborhood center, recreation center, senior citizen's center, maintenance shop, and was formerly the headquarters for the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. The center now provides a variety of recreational and social services to the citizens of College Station.

    FULL-DAY SUMMER CAMP • REGISTRATION ENDS JULY 12

    The camp offers kids ages 6-15 a variety of daily activities, including outdoor recreation, performing and creative arts, character, team-building exercises, and more. Breakfast and lunch are provided, but campers are asked to bring a morning and afternoon snack. Register on-site at the Lincoln Recreation Center or by calling 979.764.3779.     Guided by well-trained staff, kids ages 6-15 can engage in games, sports, arts and crafts, and have time for homework. Transportation is provided from South Knoll, College Hills, Rock Prairie, Southwood Valley, River Bend, Oakwood Intermediate, and A&M Consolidated Middle School for those who have paid the appropriate semester fee and signed a waiver.     The center is equipped with cardio machines, a weight-training circuit, single-station machines, and a complete range of free-weight equipment, including benches, barbells, and dumbbells.

    CARDIO FITNESS REGISTRATION THROUGH CLASS DAY
    Groove to hits you know and love for an easy-to-follow cardio dance workout. A dance session provides a good cardio workout and burns calories. The class builds cardio fitness, improves strength, alleviates stress, eases depression, and unleashes a plethora of exercise endorphins. The Saturday class is conducted outside at the W.A. Tarrow Pavilion. No class will be held July 3.

    VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM
    Practice volleyball skills or play a game. Reservations are not accepted. Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are not accepted. Volleyballs are available, but you are encouraged to bring your own.

    COMPUTER LITERACY CLASS • REGISTRATION ENDS JUNE 9
    In the digital age, computer knowledge is essential. The single, hour-long presentation is for those who need a little more instruction on the basics of computers with topics ranging from computer parts to keyboard tricks. You only need to attend one session.

    SEW SOCIAL • REGISTRATION THROUGH CLASS DAY
    Do you enjoy sewing — and sewing in groups? Sew Studio brings novices and expert seamstresses together monthly to sew in a fun and creative environment. Join us for the whole day or a few hours. Don’t forget your sewing machine, materials, and lunch.

    ZUMBA REGISTRATION THROUGH CLASS DAY
    Using dance moves and cardiovascular exercises set to upbeat Latin music, students can expect to have fun in this popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance.  Zumba® is aerobic dancing that is lots of fun and easy to learn. All levels are welcome. No class will be conducted on June 28 or July 1.

    SENIOR PROGRAMS
    Outdoor programming is located at the W.A. Tarrow Pavilion. Class sizes are limited to 20 and require advance registration. Memberships are not required.     W.A. TARROW PAVILION

    W.A. Tarrow Park was named in honor of the late principal of the old Lincoln High School. The adjacent Lincoln Recreation Center provides a variety of recreational and social services, including an indoor gymnasium, 1-mile lighted jogging trail and a playground.

    RENTAL INFORMATION

    FACILITY RENTALS
    Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be held without proper documentation and fees. Reservations can be made by calling 979.764.3779 or by visiting the Lincoln Recreation Center, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Cash, credit card or check accepted. Checks should be made payable to “City of College Station.” 

    PAVILION RENTALS
    Pavilions are rented per day. Reservations are all-day and on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Deposits will be refunded if facilities are left clean and free of damage. Reservations canceled within seven days prior to the rental date will incur a $20 cancellation fee. Pavilions may be used if they are not rented, but no access will be allowed to kitchens or restrooms.

    PAVILION RENTAL DEADLINES
    Monday-Thursday rentals must be made no later than 12 p.m. one business day prior to the desired reservation date. Friday-Sunday rentals must be made no later than 3 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the desired reservation date.

    DEPOSITS
    A security deposit is required for rentals. Portions or all of the deposit will be forfeited if damage, extra maintenance, or extraordinary cleanup occurs as a result of rental. Deposits will be refunded on the following conditions: (1) terms of your rental have been met, (2) facilities are left in good condition, or (3) cancellation procedures have been followed.

    CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
    Customers must cancel three days prior to the rental date to be eligible for a refund. If a cancellation is made fewer than three days prior to rental date, deposits will be forfeited. Refunds are processed within 30 days of request by check. No cash refunds will be issued.
