UPDATE (Dec. 18): The contractor has delayed the project until early January.
The City of College Station’s contractor will replace the traffic bollards in the Northgate District starting Monday. The two-phase project is expected to be complete by the end of January.
Bollards are the short, vertical posts that prevent vehicle access. The first phase will be the replacement of the bollards at the intersections of College Main-Church Avenue and Patricia Steet-Lodge Street. The intersections will be closed to vehicle traffic until the replacement is complete.
The second phase will include the replacement of the bollards on the College Main Promenade at Patricia Street and University Drive. Pedestrian access through the promenade will be modified to ensure safety and allow the work to be finished as quickly as possible.
