AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

The Lincoln Recreation Center provides a positive after-school environment for ages 6 to 15 years. The center offers a supervised, activity-oriented program on school days. With guidance from well-trained staff, the children will learn new games, sports, create their own special works of art, and have a chance to work on homework.


YOUTH PROGRAMS
Register today! You can register online at rectrac.cstx.gov or visit Stephen C. Beachy Central Park Office, located at 1000 Krenek Tap Road in College Station, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. All programs require advance registration. No residency restrictions.

MOMMY & ME YOGA
This dynamic parent-child class is designed to introduce children to the concepts of yoga through storytelling, songs and games. Don’t miss out on this bonding opportunity for parents and children to laugh and learn together.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT (Registration is not required)
This free, monthly program provides teenage girls access to relatable mentors and a judgement-free environment where they can combat their emotions on a broad spectrum of topics ranging from personal insecurities to intimacy. It encourages girls to leave behind their comfortable cocoons and transform into confident butterflies through encouraging emotional, spiritual and physical health. Community professionals will provide participants with tips and resources regarding college preparation and admission, hygiene, savings and more! Parental permission will be required to participate in certain discussion topics.

KIDS OKINAWAN KARATE
Martial arts helps develop discipline, self-defense skills, as well as proper judgement regarding when skills are used. This non-contact training program emphasizes the traditions of Karate-Do (the way of karate). The instructor, Chiyo Spaulding, is an AAU National Champion and has been teaching martial arts to children for the past 15 years. She has produced several nationally-ranked competitors. Parents are welcome to enroll with children.

MINI KARATE KIDS
Give your little ones the chance to explore the basics of karate in a non-threatening, educational environment. The instructor, Chiyo Spaulding, is an AAU National Champion and has been teaching martial arts to children for the past 15 years. Parents are welcome to join the class.

BUTTERFLY EFFECT CHEERLEADING PROGRAM
This cheer program promotes instilling confidence in young girls. Participants will learn the fundamentals of cheer and practice routines. Cost includes monthly tuition and practice uniform.

TEXAS HUNTER’S SAFETY CERTIFICATION COURSE
Completion of a hunter’s safety course is required by Texas Parks & Wildlife to ensure hunters are properly prepared. Hunters over the age of 9 must have successfully completed this course to hunt in Texas. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent to this class.

LITTLE AG PRODUCERS
This class teaches children the importance of agriculture and allows them to play a role in the production- consumer process on a miniature scale. Attendees will learn how to plant, harvest and cook their own crops. Parents are welcome to join.

MICHAEL JACKSON “THRILLER” DANCE PRESENTATION
Interested in learning the steps to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”? All ages are invited to learn this classic dance sequence step-by-step by Ray Brooks of POP Entertainment! Participants will show off their dance moves in full costume at the Monster’s Bash on Thursday, Oct. 26.
