The City Secretary’s Office will be closed from 8:45 a.m. to noon on January 18, 2019 for training.
The Office of the City Secretary maintains vital statistics for all births that occurred within the City of College Station. A birth certificate may only be obtained by the person of record or by a qualified applicant who presents qualifying identification.
Unqualified applicants needing to verify births or deaths may receive a birth or death verification stating whether a record of birth or death is on file with the City of College Station. If a record is filed, the verification letter will include the person's name, the date of the event, and the county where the event occurred. Verification letters are not considered legal substitutes for certified copies of birth or death certificates.

Processing Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Applications can also be obtained from the Office of the City Secretary. The application for a birth certificate must be presented in person or sent in with proper photo identification, be notarized, and include a check, money order or cash for the correct amount.

- Payment must be made with cash (no bills larger than $20.00), credit or debit card, check or money order.
- Certificates are available by mail for an additional $8.00.
