Bob and Wanda Meyer Senior and Community Center measures about 5,600 square feet and  offers three multipurpose rooms, a room equipped for arts, crafts and ceramics, personalized cafe style entrance with Wi-Fi, and comfortable settings for classes, dances or visiting with friends. The facility complies with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.


ADULT/YOUTH PROGRAMS

WATERCOLOR I • REGISTRATION REQUIRED

This beginner’s class focuses on basic painting tools, materials, techniques, composition and color theory. Supplies will be discussed during the first class. Basic drawing skills are needed. No class July 1.

WATERCOLOR II • REGISTRATION REQUIRED
A continuation class on the art of watercolor. Please bring your supplies to the first class. No class July 1.

Memberships can be used for senior programming at the Meyer Senior and Community Center, Southwood Community Center and the Lincoln Recreation Center. Memberships are good for one calendar year from the date of purchase. Programs listed below marked “membership” are free to those with a facility membership.

BEGINNING LINE DANCE WORKSHOP
Workshop is designed to teach beginners the steps and terminology of line dancing.

SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The committee’s purpose is to address the needs of older adults living in College Station and offers program and activity suggestions to the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. Members must be 55+ and current residents of College Station. Visitors are welcome to attend meetings.

JAMBOREE LINE DANCING
Experienced and advanced line dancers meet to learn new dances.

This class is specifically designed to encourage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyle practices. Exercises are designed to accommodate all abilities and focus on building strength, balance and endurance.

LEARN TO PLAY 42
Become a pro at this classic game played with dominoes through weekly, educational sessions.

COMPUTER CLUB FOR SENIORS
Interested in learning more about the world of computers and technology? Join us the first Wednesday of each month. Registration is not required.

42 DOMINOES
42 is often referred to as the National Game of Texas.  Beginner and experienced players are welcome.

GAME NIGHT
Enjoy an evening of dominoes, cornhole, cards, board games and table tennis.

BASIC JEWELRY MAKING
Learn how to make basic earrings, bracelets and necklaces or repair broken jewelry. Our instructors Joe, Linda and Betty, will offer expertise and guidance. You are asked to bring your own beads.

MOVIE & POPCORN
Enjoy newly-released films and popcorn with friends.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL WITH COLLEGE STATION POLICE DEPARTMENT
The College Station Police Department’s Community Enhancement Unit will share safety tips and awareness of the latest scams targeting the senior adult population.

WATERMELON SOCIAL WITH COLLEGE STATION FIRE DEPARTMENT
Cool off with free watermelon and learn important safety tips from the College Station Fire Department.

RENTALS
The Bob and Wanda Meyer Senior and Community Center is a great choice for your next party,
dance, reunion or meeting. It includes a meeting room, conference room, activity room, and an arts
and crafts room.

MEETING ROOM | Great for presentations, group meetings and small showers or parties.This 713 square foot room has vinyl flooring, a flat screen television with A/V capabilities, and free Wi-Fi.

CONFERENCE ROOM | This room is idea for smaller gatherings, appropriate for meetings or small presentations. With 528 square feet of vinyl flooring, this room has a flat screen TV with A/V capabilities and free Wi-Fi.

ACTIVITY ROOM | Our largest room, with 943 square feet this large space provides an abundance of natural lighting with large windows that overlook Wolf Pen Creek Park. This space is perfect for showers, birthday parties, family gatherings or large presentations. This room features a flat screen TV and projector with A/V capabilities and free Wi-Fi.

ARTS & CRAFTS ROOM | Hosting a science or art themed party, demo or presentation? This room features professional grade lab tables, counter height stools and two sinks. This room also features two flat screen TV’s with A/V capabilities and free Wi-Fi.

Deposits are refundable if the facility is left clean and damage-free. All rental rates are based on a party of 1-25 people. Additional fees are added per hour for more than 25 attendees. Any rental expecting more than 100 attendees must have prior approval.
