Citizens Fire Academy

The College Station Fire Department encourages you to apply for Citizens Fire Academy, a free program that focuses on the day-to-day operations of your local fire department. The academy is offered each spring, and meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–9:30 p.m., plus a Saturday session that features a live fire exercise.

Citizens Fire Academy is not an official firefighting training program. For those interested in becoming a firefighter and would like more information about the process, please email or call 979-764-3705.

Participants must be at least 18 years old AND live or work in the Brazos Valley.

  • Hazardous Materials Program

  • Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement
  • Fire Safety Education / CPR Training
  • Portable Fire Extinguishers
  • Incident Command System
  • Ride Outs with Fire Engines and Ambulances
  • CPR & First Aid will also be offered
