Municipal Court Presiding Judge

College Station Municipal Court has one Presiding Judge and one Associate Judge:


Judge Edward J. Spillane III, Presiding Judge


Judge Michael Calliham, Associate Judge

The duties of the presiding Municipal Court Judge include:  preside over jury and non-jury trials; issue process (subpoenas, summonses, warrants, capias, capias pro fines, and attachments) to compel the attendance of persons as witnesses and parents of juveniles and to compel the appearance of defendant in municipal court; grant continuances in cases where sufficient cause is shown that a case should be postponed; conduct indigent hearings; keep and maintain a docket containing each case filed and the court action taken; rule on motions for new trials; prepare or assist in the reporting of all traffic convictions to the Texas Department of Public Safety; and serve as a magistrate of the State of Texas.
