APPLY FOR A CITIZEN COMMITTEE, BOARD OR COMMISSION
One way to become actively involved with the City of College Station is to serve on one of the following citizen boards, committees or commissions:

Those interested must be a resident and qualified voter of College Station. Members serve without monetary compensation. Application deadline is Monday, Dec. 4 by 5 p.m.

NAME DESCRIPTION
Architectural Advisory Committee Reviews and makes recommendations to city council on the scope and schematic design of architectural projects. Learn more or apply.
B/CS Library Committee Encourages development and recommends policies and programs for advancement of the Bryan and College Station Library System.

Bicycle, Pedestrian & Greenways Advisory Board Advises Council, Planning & Zoning Commission and other appointed boards on all matters concerning biking, walking and greenways within the City of College Station.  Learn more or apply.
Brazos Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau Enhances the economic and social growth in the Brazos Valley by marketing, promoting, developing and coordinating tourism, conventions, sports, and hospitality opportunities in the area. Learn more.
Construction Board of Adjustments Hears appeals of decisions, considers interpretations of the building officials, and considers variances to the terms of technical codes.  Learn more or apply.
Design Review Board Hears and takes action on design district site plans and concept plans for Planned Development Districts (PDD) and Planned Mix-Use Districts (P-MUD).  Learn more or apply.
Historic Preservation Committee Aids in the collecting and preserving of the College Station's history. Provides for education of citizenry, with an emphasis on designation of historical areas by assigning historic plaques to residents of historic home sites and building.  Learn more or apply.
Joint Relief Funding Review Committee The City of College Station and the City of Bryan work in a joint process to allocate grant funds to local non-profit agencies. This committee reviews all of those proposals. Learn more or apply.
Landmark Commission This body is currently inactive. Enhances the City of College Station's ability to identify and protect historically and/or culturally significant districts, areas, sites and buildings by bringing expertise in those areas related to the designation of Historic Preservation Overlay Districts.  Learn more.
Parks & Recreation Board Advises and recommends to city council on all matters concerning the establishment, maintenance, and operations of parks, and establishment and operation of recreational programs conducted by the city. Learn more or apply.
Planning & Zoning Commission Recommends changes in development codes and zoning ordinances to city council. Makes studies and recommendations with regard to proposed annexations.  Has final authority over all plats submitted to city. Learn more or apply.
Special District Boards Brazos County Municipal Utility District #1 and Rock Prairie Management District No. 2 Learn more.
Zoning Board of Adjustments Hears and decides appeals for interpretations, special exceptions, and variances to the terms of the zoning ordinance. as well as permits.  Learn more or apply.
