Challenger Basketball provides a recreational program for special needs individuals and teaches them the aspects of basketball and team sports.  An organization called "Project Sunshine" from Texas A&M University plays a vital role in the everyday aspects of running this program.  There is also a "Challenger Committee" which is a tremendous help in the coordination of all of our Challenger activities.

This program is open for special needs individuals, male and female, ages 5 - 18.  Anywhere from 30 - 70 children participate in this program each year.  The season takes place in the months of January, February and March on Tuesdays and Saturdays at various CSISD school gymnasiums.  Each player receives a T-shirt and an award for their participation.  Participants will be charged a fee of $15.00.
